Like everyone who calls Joomla! their favourite content management system, we are of course looking forward to the release of Joomla 4.0.
Besides all the excitement, we are not idle and have already developed and adapted our BackupMonkey client - RemoteMonkey for the upcoming major release.
Both Joomla! pages running on version 3.X and pages that have already been updated to Joomla! 4.X can be managed in the future using a single RemoteMonkey version.
This makes the migration process of already linked pages as well as adding new pages to your BackupMonkey account easier, because you can always use the same RemoteMonkey on all pages connected to your account.
We are currently working on some minor fixes around the backup processes of the site, but hope to make further progress in our upcoming code sprint and finally get the client ready for Joomla! 4.
Everyone can help - with tests!
Do you want to actively support the release and further development of Joomla 4.0? Then already check the current beta version of the release (Beta 5, status 05.11.2020) and report problems in the issue tracker of the project. Every helping hand is important to bring Joomla! 4 further steps forward.
If you want to test Joomla 4.0 without setting up the system manually, you can set up a test system at launch.joomla.org.
