In the last weeks we have met twice for 2 day sprints in beautiful Cologne to improve BackupMonkey.

In the first sprint we took care of the little teething troubles and added some improvements. Basically that was:

  • Core Updates can be started from the site overview
  • We display the status of an existing TLS/SSL certificate
  • In the detail view we show a graph of the TTFB (Time to first Byte) over the last 30 days.
  • We now support ftp and sftp in addition to S3 as a storage location for backups.

Besides these concrete additions, we have been working on the concept of a better interface, this will be great.

In the second sprint, we have created a possibility to send status reports to our own customers, adapted to our own cooperative design. This way our customers, their customers, can make the service provided under the maintenance contract transparent. As a second big point, we have created a documentation that explains BackupMonkey and its usage.

That's it for this year, but already in January the next sprint will start.

We wish all of you who are now able to take a few days off a nice time, rest and relaxation.
